A Simple Smile

It is always refreshing to pick someone up when they are down. I interviewed a young lady a few weeks ago and after the interview she thanked me for being so nice to her. She explained that she had just recently lost her father and had thoughts of cancelling the interview because she felt that she was not ready to get back in the workforce. She told me that the way I treated her let her know she could move forward not only in her job search but move forward in general. I was touched by her telling me this and it made me take a look at myself and remember that a simple smile or act of kindness no matter where you are can go a long way especially in the workplace.
